The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the Gaza Strip announced the temporary closure of all mosques in the Gaza Strip for a period of 48 hours, and the suspension of congregational prayers, starting at dawn on Tuesday, August 25, 2020.

The ministry stated, in a press statement, that the call to prayer will be raised at its known times, and the muezzins are obligated to call “Pray in your homes” after completing the full words of the call to prayer.

The endowments added: “We call on citizens to perform group prayers at home, and to adhere to the instructions and procedures issued by the competent authorities in order to preserve their safety.”
