
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today, Monday, that two deaths and 118 new cases of Coronavirus have been recorded within 24 hours, after 1525 laboratory tests have been carried out.
In her daily statement, she indicated that 40 new cases of people with Coronavirus have recovered, bringing the number of people recovering to 2,390.
She confirmed the death of the citizen Alaa Abdel-Karim Al-Sahbani, 26, from Gaza, who is a heart patient and suffers from kidney and lung problems, and the death of Abdel Halim Muhammad Abu Hussein, 78, a resident of Jabalia, who is a cancer patient, which raises the number of deaths since the beginning of the crisis to 26 cases.
She explained that the total number of injuries since last March was 4102, of which 1686 are active cases.
In a related context, the United Nations envoy to the Middle East peace process, Nikolai Mladenov, announced today, Monday, that the Gaza Strip had been provided with 14,000 swabs to test the emerging “Corona” virus (Covid 19).
Mladenov said in a tweet on the social networking site (Twitter): “The United Nations continues to help by providing important (Covid 19) supplies to Gaza.”
He continued: An additional 14,000 swabs were delivered by the World Health Organization.
