Prisoner Maher Al-Akhras, who has been on hunger strike for 81 days, refused his administrative detention, said in a letter sent by the Israeli (Kaplan) Hospital yesterday evening: “I am consistent with my decision, and I will not eat any food except in my house.”
Al-Akhras demanded that he be allowed to see his mother and children, after he had reached a serious health stage, as the occupation continued, his refusal to respond to his demand of an immediate end to his administrative detention.
The mute prisoner said in his message: “I am consistent with my decision, and I will not eat any food except in my home, and I will not break my will. I am now in the (Kaplan) Israeli Hospital, I only drink water, and I will continue to do so until I return to my house, greeting the family. My greetings to my dear mother, and my greetings to my children, I love you so much, so my message to the free world is to see my mother and my children. “
The prisoner club pointed out that the prisoners in the occupation prisons announced yesterday evening that they would escalate their protest steps after the failure of the dialogue with the prison administration, about ending the isolation of the prisoner, Wael Al-Jaghoub, and a group of prisoners, and the occupation’s refusal to release the mute prisoner.
The Asir Club indicated that the Al-Asir Al-Akhras was arrested on July 27, 2020, and is married with six children, working in agriculture, and has been arrested several times since 1989 AD, and spent a total of four years in the occupation prisons.
It is noteworthy, that the Supreme Court of Occupation rejected several requests submitted by his lawyer for his immediate release, and kept the decision to freeze his administrative detention. On September 23, 2020, the court issued a decision to freeze his administrative detention, which was considered by the mute prisoner as a trick and an attempt to circumvent his strike On October 1, 2020, the court again rejected the request for his immediate release, and again on October 12, 2020, it rejected the request for his release, and presented a proposal in essence, which represents a new attempt to circumvent his strike. The mute prisoner rejected him, and announced his continuation of the strike.
And the dumb prisoner had sent a previous message in which he said: “My only condition is freedom, either freedom or martyrdom.”
