Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, Chief Justice of Palestine, Advisor to the President for Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations, condemned the re-publication of the cartoons insulting to the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and official French support for their re-publication.

The judge described these drawings as charged with the ugliest forms of foolishness and ignorance, which try to insult the shrine of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, with the moral and moral decay of their owners, and of those who can support them, protect them, or keep silent about their despicable act.

Al-Habbash also condemned the official and unofficial statements issued in France and elsewhere in recent days, which are understood to justify and support the publication of these degrading cartoons, under the pretext of freedom of expression, which are rejected and denounced.

He added: Insulting all the messengers and insulting religious symbols is a barbaric behavior that cannot fall under freedom of opinion and expression, but rather an assault on the beliefs and feelings of others, and it is a kind of racial extremism that promotes a culture of hatred, discord and violence among people.

Al-Habbash affirmed that we feel very angry at these abuses that dealt with the image of our great Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who is the mercy of God to the worlds, and we also feel anger from those who provide cover for it, warning of the repercussions of the continuation of this barbaric and reckless behavior, which fuels hatred and pushes towards clash. Between peoples, states and cultures, threatening tolerance and coexistence among nations, and severely damaging international peace and security.

Al-Habbash called on the French government to refrain from protecting these serious abuses and to prevent their existence completely, in order to preserve the values of freedom and coexistence on which the modern French state was established, and to preserve peace and coexistence, which the prophets called for, peace be upon them, and their seal is Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace
