
the Egyptian authorities continue to open the Rafah crossing on the southern border of the Gaza Strip for the second day of its opening, exceptionally for three days.
Several buses arrived on the Egyptian side carrying students, patients and residence owners, in preparation for their entry into the Egyptian territory.
On the first day of the crossing, 913 passengers left the Gaza Strip.
The General Authority for Crossings and Borders at the Ministry of Interior said that work through the crossing witnessed during Tuesday’s work the departure of 913 passengers and the arrival of 349 returnees, while the Egyptian authorities returned 38 travelers.
The authority added that its crews, with the support of the competent authorities at the Ministry of Interior, worked to facilitate the departure of travelers and receive the returnees in accordance with the approved protocol in coordination with the Ministry of Health to counter the spread of the Coronavirus.
She stated that work towards the arrival continued until late at dawn on Wednesday.
The authority’s crews are working to follow up on conducting a pre-examination for the Coronavirus, PCR, for all travelers scheduled to leave through the crossing over the course of three days, in accordance with the protocol of the Ministry of Health
