The complete closure will continue in the Gaza Strip on Friday and Saturday for the fourth consecutive week. As part of the Ministry of Interior measures to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.
The complete closure came into effect yesterday evening, 6:30 pm, and will continue until 7:00 am next Sunday.
The police forces and security services participating in the emergency plan were deployed in all governorates of the Gaza Strip, in order to follow up on commitment to the closure and prevent violations of it.
The Ministry of the Interior reiterated its emphasis on continuing to implement all preventive measures taken at this stage without change, including the continuation of the total closure on Friday and Saturday.
In a press statement, the ministry’s spokesman, Iyad Al-Bazm, called on citizens to fully adhere to safety and prevention measures, wear a mask and maintain physical distancing, especially with the Ministry of Health’s estimates of the seriousness of the current weeks that witness the peak of the virus’s spread.
And the Ministry of Interior announced the imposition of a complete closure on Friday and Saturday, starting from December 11 last year, as a preventive measure in light of the recent high numbers of cases of Coronavirus in the Gaza Strip.
