, Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya, a member of the political bureau of Hamas, said: “We hoped that the elections would be the culmination of a state of natural consensus and then go to the elections.” We want the authority to extinguish its funds and mechanisms on the PLO. ” 

Al-Hayya indicated, during a meeting with a group of journalists, today, Wednesday, that the 2006 National Agreement document, and what was reached in Beirut, formed the common base for what could be reached. 

Al-Hayya stressed that Hamas will remain honest with the Palestinian people, the martyrs, the prisoners, and the wounded, stressing the need to go together to a new national state, noting that his movement has shown all flexibility at all stages to end the division, as it is an attempt to remove everything that obstructs the achievement of national unity.

The member of the Hamas political bureau stressed the need to unify the Palestinian national institutions. To confront the Israeli project, pointing out that there is a need for a common political ground, and all factions have the right to say what they want.

Al-Hayya said, “Our national institutions must be reconfigured through legislative elections, the presidency, the National Council, the Legislative Council, the Presidency, and the National Council.”

Al-Hayya continued by saying: “If we agree on the minimum level of the political program, it will open the door wide for a greater consensus.”

In a related context, a member of the political bureau of Hamas affirmed that there is a great attempt to make the Israeli occupation be part of the region, pointing out that what we are witnessing today of the stampede and scrambling towards normalization, is something that no free Arab person believes.
He said, “The occupation is still morning and evening killing our people. On the other hand, there is a state of rushing to absorb it in the region,” adding: “The Palestinian human being is the basis of the Palestinian cause, and the occupation and America are seeking to redefine the Palestinian refugee.”

He continued: “Normalization is targeting the Palestinian cause, while the occupation steals the land and continues to settle and annex lands, Judaize Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, and accelerate its division in time and space.”

Al-Hayya explained that the Israeli occupation tends to be more right-wing and extremism, and does not believe in any right for us, and lean back and wait until we return to the negotiations, returning to the first square, stressing at the same time that no achievement of our Palestinian cause can be expected from any American administration.

He pointed out that the justifications for the decision taken by the authority to dissolve from the agreements with the occupation still exist, saying: “The time has come to lift the sanctions on the Gaza Strip, and this is a popular demand.”

Al-Hayya added, “We want the Palestinian citizen to feel completely free to vote, campaign and form lists,” adding, “Freedoms must be released in the West Bank so that the elections are smooth and we are committed to that.”

He indicated that there is a will to go to the elections and everyone is satisfied with the legal and judicial process, which will be the focus of discussions that will take place in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, stressing at the same time the need to go and agree to form the election court.

The Hamas leader stressed the need to reform the Constitutional Court in a fraternal spirit, pointing out that this court had a legal dispute since its inception, as it was formed in inappropriate circumstances, and there is objection and controversy.

Regarding the form of his movement’s participation in the elections, al-Hayya affirmed that Hamas has not yet determined the form of participation in the elections, pointing out that it is open to all forms of participation, and that it is going to Cairo with an open heart in order to agree on the electoral program.

He said, “The form of our participation in the elections depends on what we agree on in the Cairo dialogues, as there are multiple options for the form of Hamas’s participation in the elections.” For elections. “

In a related context, Al-Hayya stressed that the issuance of the presidential decree for the elections is one of the international guarantees, pointing out that the real guarantee is honesty with the Palestinian people.

He pointed out that the Legislative Council is the first stage for the formation of the National Council, pointing out that the National Council needs requirements, and when it is reached on August 31, an agreement must be made, meaning that elections will be held abroad.
