Islamic Jihad: We decided not to participate in the PA elections, as they are "elections covered by the Oslo Accords."

The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine today, Tuesday, issued a statement after the national dialogue tour in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
According to the statement that “Dunya Al Watan” received a copy of, the movement decided “not to participate in elections covered by the Oslo Accords, which wasted the rights and constants of the Palestinian people.”
The following is the text of the statement:

The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine participated in the national dialogue round that was launched yesterday in Cairo under the patronage of the brothers in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The delegation presented the vision of the political movement that guarantees the achievement of unity on clear and sound grounds, far from the Oslo Agreement.

We in the Islamic Jihad Movement believe that the correct approach to national unity is to agree on a political program that strengthens the people’s steadfastness and protects their resistance, rebuilding and developing the Palestine Liberation Organization by conducting elections for the National Council separate from the Legislative Council, and reconsidering its charter and its representation for all Palestinians in all places of their presence, and considering it the reference To all Palestinian institutions at home and abroad, which we hope will be discussed and achieved in the upcoming dialogue sessions that will take place next March, as confirmed by the Cairo statement.

With regard to the elections for the Authority, the movement decided not to participate in elections covered by the Oslo Accord, which wasted the rights and constants of the Palestinian people.
