
Islamic Jihad appreciated, on Saturday, the withdrawal of an Algerian parliamentary delegation, from an international meeting, due to the participation of an Israeli representative in it.
Nafez Azzam, a member of the movement’s political bureau, said in a statement, “Algeria, as a people and leadership, has brought us back to these principled and original positions.”
He added that “confronting normalization in all its forms is a moral, religious and Arab duty, and perhaps Algeria represents this free and established position very clearly.”
Azzam considered this position as “Algeria’s awareness of the responsibility towards Palestine and the victory for its cause.”
Earlier Saturday, Algerian MP Ammar Moussa told Anadolu Agency that his country’s delegation withdrew from the meeting of the International Parliamentary Network (remotely via a television circuit), as representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (a regional organization), due to the participation of a deputy Israeli in it.
The meeting was held last Tuesday, and lasted for two days (until last Wednesday).
Parliamentary Network International , according to its website, bloc seeks to enhance the expertise and cooperation among legislators, parliamentarians and political formations across the world.
