The head of Egyptian intelligence, Major General Abbas Kamel, began meeting with the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip.
This comes shortly after a meeting held between Kamel, who arrived in the Gaza Strip this morning at the head of a high-level Egyptian delegation, and a delegation from Hamas.
The deputy head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, revealed the most prominent files that were discussed, with the representative of Egyptian President Abbas Kamel, and the Hamas leadership in Gaza.
Al-Hayya said, “We discussed with the Egyptian delegation the arrangement of the Palestinian house and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and we emphasized the Egyptian role and bilateral relations with Egypt and the role of the nation in supporting the Palestinian people, which has to deal with a new reality with the Israeli occupation.”
He added: “The file of the prisoner exchange with the occupation is independent, and we do not accept linking it to the file of the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and we hope that the demands and rights of our Palestinian people will be fulfilled in the next stage.”
